Chula Vista, San Diego County
The Living Coast Discovery Center sits on Sweetwater Marsh at the edge of San Diego Bay, inside a national wildlife refuge. It opened in 1987 as the Chula Vista Nature Center and took its current name in 2010. Visitors meet sea turtles, rays, owls and shorebirds native to the bay, and trails lead out through the salt marsh.
